¡Valencia, Ciudad de Arte Moderna y clima cambiante!

I am really upset, my holidays are over. I spent 10 days in València, a harbor city on the East Coast of Spain. It is the third-largest city of Spain after Madrid and Barcelona. Valencia was founded as a Roman colony in 138 b.C. but in 714 Moroccan and Arab Moors occupied it. This Arabian influence is evident in many places where colors and mosaics stand out.

I think it’s not the best city I visited - I’ve never talked about it, but I really love cold places. The weather is too changeable, a lot of rain and humidity and the downtown is too sprinkled. Anyway there's a lot to see and many green spaces.

I love each kind of art, especially the modern one. And Valencia, is definitely full of modern art. Doubtless, the heart of this artistic side is the “Ciudad de las Artes y de las Ciencias” a cultural and architectural complex. The “Hemisfèric”, The “Museu de ciences Príncipe Felipe”, The “Oceanogràfic”, the “Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia” are just few names of the cultural centers that is developed at the end of the river Turia.

The Oceanogràfic is the biggest aquarium in Europe. There are 500 species and about 45.000 examples.

Then, another kind of art in Valencia, is the large amount of street art. In every corner, in every district you can find colorful wall painting. If you love it, the most famous areas for street art are “El Barrio del Carmen” and “Ruzafa”.

What I also suggest is to have a walk through the seafront until the “Cabanyal”. The beach is a heap of sand flanked by a long boulevard of palm trees in the American-style. The sea is not so good but perfect to stroll.

If you want to eat something typical, you have to try the Paella of “La Marcelina” in front of the beach and the craft beer of “Beer and Blues”, behind the Central Market. Anyway, Valencia is very famous for the “Patatas Bravas” if you are lovers of strong flavors, the Jamón, the various kind of Tapas and, as dessert, the famous Churro.
